Men's Shot Put final - Flash Interviews

Jacko GILL  (NZL)  - GOLD MEDAL – 20.76m

I am thrilled.  I barely qualified for the final and now I’m going home with the gold.  That’s very special for me.

I was the young guy coming into the competition and pleased to be able to pull this off since I’m one of the smaller guys in the field.

This is my first world competition of this scale and now I hope I can carry this win over to the Youth Olympics in Singapore.

Bozidar ANTUNOVIC (SRB) - SILVER MEDAL - 20.20m

The competition was great.

I had a little trouble with technique. I think I could do better, but I'm satisfied with second place.

The explosive strength from my arms (was good). The legs are not working very well, and that is at least half a metre.

I'm preparing for the European Under-23 Championship in Austria, and I will try to do my best.

Yongheng DING (CHN) - BRONZE MEDAL -  20.14m

I feel very good. It’s a big challenge because I’ve been improving a lot over the course of this event. The other competitors are very excellent athletes. I tried my best, but there are a lot of good athletes.

This place is excellent. The environment is very good, it’s beautiful, and also the people here are very friendly.

My next goal is to improve as much as I can, and to be a very good world athlete. I’m going to go back to China and my next event is the national junior championships.
