I’ve just got back home after my trip to Townsville (see June Diary entry), and I am very pleased with how the competition went. I was just 1cm off my season’s best which I was very happy with. It was also a great opportunity to throw in conditions similar to what I’ll face in Osaka. It was warmer in Townsville.
I have 2 weeks now before I leave home again to attend the Training Camp in Cairns organized by Athletics NZ. There seems like a thousand things that I need to take care of before I leave… I just hope I can get everything done in time!
My coach and I are currently working on confirming my entry into the Linz EAA Permit Meeting (11 September) and several German Meetings so that I can compete in the World Athletics Final in Stuttgart in September. I’ll be going directly from the World Championships to Europe, which unfortunately means that I’ll be away from home again for quite a while!
My next diary will come from Osaka once the New Zealand team arrives at the athlete’s village.
The World Championships are only a month away. I’m very excited!
Until next time
