The women’s High Jump at the DN Galan meeting in Stockholm just got an extra lift with the confirmation that Croatia’s two-time World champion Blanca Vlasic will also compete at the IAAF Diamond League meeting on 22 August.

She will face Russia’s reigning Olympic and World champion Anna Chicherova.

Vlasic made her come back at the end of May after missing all of 2012 due to injury and 10 days ago cleared 2.00m in the German town of Buhl, which puts her in third place on the current world outdoor list.

“The Stockholm stadium is one of my favourite arenas, it’s where I jumped 2.07m in 2007 and set a Croatian record. It will be great to come back and compete in front of such an enthusiastic crowd,” said Vlasic, who also holds the stadium record thanks to that performance.

The Italian High Jump prodigy Alessia Trost, 20, is also on the DN Galan startlist.

Trost won at the IAAF World Junior Championships last year and this winter cleared 2.00m for the first time to lead the 2013 indoor world list.

She’ll be joined on 22 August by Russia’s London 2012 Olympic Games bronze medallist Svetlana Shkolina, who has been a winner at IAAF Diamond League meetings in Rome and Oslo during the last month, and Sweden's local star Emma Green Tregaro.
