Istanbul 2012 - Flash Interviews - Men's 4x400m Final

UNITED STATES

F. Wright: It was a good start for us. But with the British runner speeding up and slowing down I messed up my rhythm. I could not do my own rhythm.

C. Smith: I stayed with the British guy, stayed behind him. I just worked it out on the home stretch to put it to my teammate.

M. Mitchell: I knew that I was stronger than Michael, so I overtook him and was able to give Gill a good lead. Coming in, I knew I could take the lead because in college I ran against Michael. It seized the opportunity, I just made the move I had to make.

G. Roberts: I am blessed to be able to run with these guys. My teammates put me in a good position, so I just had to put it home. I just had to hold the lead. The necklace? Oh, it is just my style. It is definitely a big luxury to be in the US, with such a lot of talent.

GREAT BRITAIN & N.I.

The girls have been a major inspiration for us and we tried to do the same for team GB. It was a great race. We tried to maintain the lead even though we knew it would be tough. We're always happy to get a medal but we know we could have done better than this.

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

Renny Quow: Everyone know how tight lane one is. I passed the stick in fifth and our guys completed the job. We are elated to have won a medal for Trinidad and Tobago.

Jarrin Solomon (anchor): I took the baton in fifth and gave it all out in the last 100m. This was our chance to win a medal, my first one indoors and did not want to miss it. I only started to put on the spikes two weeks ago. We will now prepare for the Olympics and hope to repeat this performance in London.
