United States' Dalilah Muhammad held off fast rushing finishers to win the Girls' 400m hurdles World Youth title on Friday's third day of the 5th IAAF World Youth Championships.

In a competitive home stretch, Muhammad, who showed more determination took the title in 57.25 seconds ahead of Romania's Andreea Ionescu (57.33) and Ryann Krais (57.50), also of USA.

The race started off fast, but by the third hurdle, Muhammad was in front, this move according to her was because the seeded athletes were drawn behind her.

Coming into the home stretch, Inoescu and Krais were closing the gap, but Muhammad, who looked the strongest, held her nerve to cross the line ahead.
