Final selection of athletes made for Singapore Youth Olympic Games

MonteCarlo  The IAAF has pleasure in confirming the second and final wave of athletes who will compete at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) which take place in Singapore, from 17 to 23 August.

Only athletes aged 16 or 17 on the final day of this year (born in 1993 or 1994) are applicable to compete at the YOG.

In addition to the 511 athletes announced on 25 June who were selected via Area competitions which have been taking place from March to May this year, the additional group of names announced today will participate in Singapore, regardless of performance under the 'Universality Rule' of the Youth Olympic Games qualifying process.

These final allocations have been decided by the International Olympic Committee in consultation with the National Olympic Committee's (NOCs) and the IAAF.
