Hungarian athletics fan David Baka was the lucky winner of the IAAF World Athletics Club Facebook contest to pick the finalists of the Male and Female World Athlete of the Year and he got to meet his some of his heroes at the World Athletics Gala in Monaco on Saturday night (16).

Thanks to his accuracy in picking the three men and women who made this year’s short list, Baka won an all-expenses trip of a lifetime to Monaco.

“I like the sprints in particular and so it was great to be at the Gala and meet people like Usain Bolt,” said 22-year-old Baka, who hails from Budapest.

“I try to go to as many athletics meetings as possible and I’ve been at the international meeting that we have in Budapest every year,” he added.

In addition to being at the Gala, Baka spent some of his weekend sightseeing around the Principality. “I particularly enjoyed visiting the Oceanographic Museum; that was impressive,”  said Baka.
