World Combined Events Challenge 2004
Technical Rules

1 General Principles
The IAAF World Combined Events Challenge is an annual event for Decathlon (Men) and Heptathlon (Women).

2 Scoring
2.1 The scoring opportunities will be:
World Combined Events Permit Meetings (as listed in the Combined Events Challenge
Calendar page 11 of the IAAF Outdoor Handbook 2004)
2.2 The following conditions must be respected so that the scoring can be taken into
account:
i) a full automatic timing system must be in operation;
ii) at least six doping controls, three for men and three for women shall be carried out
iii) the Meetings Directors must respect the IAAF Advertising Rules and Regulations

3 Ranking
Ranking will be based on the addition of the best totals achieved by one Athlete in any three
of the competitions listed under 2.1.

4 Awards
Prize money will be awarded as follows:-
