Filothei, Greece - The 7th annual version of "Filothei Women Gala", a meeting exclusively dedicated to women’s athletics, proved the best in the meeting's history so far, as two new world season leaders emerged in the Filothei Stadium.

Bulgaria's Venelina Veneva returned to jumps over 2.00m after four years. The 32-year-old bronze medalist of the world indoor championships in 2001 won the competition at 1.90m and then she had successful attempts at 2.00m and 2.03m to set the first world leading mark of the meeting.

"I'm very satisfied with this performance" said Veneva after the meet. "My next objective is to leap 2.05 and why not 2.07.”

The second world leading mark of the day came in the Triple Jump from Russia's Anna Pyatykh, who managed a 14.68m leap on her 6th attempt to replace the Greek Champion, Chrisopigi Devetzi, who didn't participate today, on the top of the world season's world list.

The European Indoor champion, Portugal's Naide Gomes, won the Long Jump with 6.72m, coming just two centimetres from her career's best, while Greek Panayota Koutsioumari placed second with 6.61m.

In the other events, Haiti's Nadine Faustine dominated the 100m Hurdles in 13.10 seconds, and Germany's Nasja Ryjikh who cleared 4.30m to set an easy Pole Vault win.
