Monte-Carlo – The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) is delighted to announce a sponsorship deal with the China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec).
In a deal brokered by Dentsu, the IAAF Marketing Agency, Sinopec becomes the first international Chinese corporation to be involved with the IAAF at an international level.
The addition of Sinopec as an IAAF partner, although currently for only a limited number of competitions, is the latest step in the international diversification of the IAAF’s portfolio of sponsors following the integration of Korea’s Samsung and Russian bank VTB in recent years.
Under the terms of the agreement Sinopec will become an Official Sponsor of the IAAF/VTB Continental Cup that will take place on 4 & 5 September 2010, in Split, Croatia. Sinopec has acquired a full sponsorship package comprising 6 advertising boards and an array of additional rights. Sinopec will join title sponsor VTB Bank and Official Sponsors Adidas, TDK and Seiko, as well as Official Supplier Mondo, and a group of National Suppliers/Public Institutions.
Sinopec has also acquired title sponsorship rights for the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships that will take place on 16 October 2010 in Nanning, China. The event has therefore been rebranded the IAAF/Sinopec World Half Marathon Championships.
The China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) is a vertically integrated energy and chemical company with principal businesses of exploration, production and trading of petroleum and natural gas, refining and sales of petroleum products and production and sales of chemical products. It is the second largest producer of crude oil and gas and the largest refiner in China. It is listed in Hong Kong, London and Shanghai.

This first direct association with the economic powerhouse of China is a vital ingredient in the IAAF’s long term strategy to ensure both its financial stability and the continued global development of Athletics,” commented IAAF President Diack. “Our sport is the number one at the Olympic Games and our own World Championships are the third biggest global sporting event after the Games and the FIFA World Cup, and this agreement with Sinopec will help us to retain and enhance that position in world sport.”

Monte-Carlo – L'IAAF est ravie d'annoncer avoir conclu un accord de partenariat avec la China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec).
Selon les termes de l'accord organisé par Dentsu, l'agence marketing de l'IAAF, Sinopec devient la première corporation chinoise internationale à s'allier à l'IAAF sur le plan international.
L'addition de Sinopec au nombre des partenaires de l'IAAF, bien que ne concernant pour l'instant qu'un nombre limité de compétitions, représente l'étape la plus récente dans la diversification du portefeuille des sponsors de l'IAAF, dans le sillage de l'intégration du Coréen Samsung et de la banque russe VTB ces dernières années.
Selon les termes de l'accord, Sinopec devient partenaire officiel de la Coupe Continentale de l'IAAF/VTB qui aura lieu les 4 et 5 septembre 2010, à Split en Croatie. Sinopec a acquis un paquet sponsoring complet comprenant six panneaux publicitaires et tout un dispositif de droits supplémentaires. Sinopec rejoint VTB Bank, le sponsor en titre de la compétition et les autres partenaires officiels: Adidas, TDK et Seiko, ainsi que Mondo, le fournisseur officiel de l'IAAF et un groupe de partenaires nationaux et d'institutions publiques.
Sinopec a également acquis les droits de sponsor en titre des Championnats du Monde de Semi-Marathon de l'IAAF qui se déroulent le 16 octobre 2010 à Nanning, en Chine. La compétition a donc été rebaptisée Championnats du Monde de Semi-Marathon IAAF/Sinopec.
China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) est un groupe public chinois qui intègre toutes les activités pétrolières et chimiques liées au pétrole depuis l’exploration, la production, la distribution et la vente de pétrole et de gaz naturel, le raffinage, la production et la vente de produits pétroliers et chimiques.
