An IAAF delegation led by organisational delegate Helmut Digel paid a three-day visit (15-17 June) to the Chinese capital for the latest of their scheduled meetings with the Chinese Athletics Federation and the Local Organising Committee of the IAAF World Championships, Beijing 2015.
Professor Digel, who is an IAAF Council Member and Chairman of the IAAF Marketing and Promotions Commission, was accompanied among others by IAAF General Secretary Essar Gabriel and representatives of the IAAF Marketing Partners Dentsu/AMS.
The Chinese Athletics Federation delegation was headed by vice president Chunde Shen, while the Beijing 2015 LOC was led by Jie Chen, deputy director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports.
Progress in all major areas of responsibility from the general organisation of the championships and its competitions to the specialist areas of marketing, communications, broadcasting and protocol were discussed on the extensive agenda.
The meetings on 16 June took place at the Inter Continental Beijing Beichen Hotel and there was an official dinner on the night of the 16 June at the Hua's Restaurant, hosted by IAAF Council Member Zhaocai Du.
The IAAF World Championships, Beijing 2015, take place from 22 to 30 August 2015.

La Commission de coordination de l’IAAF rend visite au COL de Pékin 2015
Une délégation de l’IAAF, emmenée par le délégué à l’organisation Helmut Digel, a effectué un déplacement de trois jours (15-17 juin) dans la capitale chinoise pour la plus récente des réunions planifiées avec la Fédération chinoise d’athlétisme et le Comité d’organisation local des Championnats du monde d’athlétisme de l’IAAF, Pékin 2015.
Le professeur Digel, membre du Conseil de l’IAAF et président de la Commission Marketing et promotion de l’IAAF, était accompagné notamment du Secrétaire général de l’IAAF, Essar Gabriel, et de représentants de Dentsu/AMS, les partenaires marketing de l’IAAF.
La délégation de la Fédération chinoise d’athlétisme était dirigée par son vice-président Chunde Shen, tandis que celle du COL de Pékin 2015 avait à sa tête Jie Chen, le directeur délégué du Bureau municipal des sports de Pékin.
Les avancées accomplies dans l’ensemble des secteurs de responsabilité générale, telles que l’organisation générale des championnats et des différentes épreuves, ont été étudiées. Le programme très chargé de ces trois journées prévoyait également l’examen de la situation actuelle de secteurs plus spécialisés, dont le marketing, la communication, les diffusions télévisées ou encore le protocole.
Les réunions du 16 juin ont eu lieu à l’hôtel InterContinental Beichen de Pékin, tandis qu’un dîner officiel était organisé le 16 juin au Restaurant Hua, où l’hôte pour la soirée était le membre du Conseil de l’IAAF, Zhaocai Du.
Les Championnats du monde de l’IAAF, Pékin 2015, se dérouleront du 22 au 30 août 2015.
