The 1st International Race Walking Forum in China was held in Shenzhen Guest Hotel on the morning of 23 March 2007.

To promote race walking and attract more people to pay more attention to this sport, to enhance the communication as well as its development, the Chinese Athletic Association held this International Race Walking Forum. With the aim of improving race walking techniques and coaching, CAA invited eight national and international specialists to give a presentation on the theme of “the development of world race walking”.

IAAF President Lamine Diack, sent a message to congratulate this forum, in which he said, the “IAAF is committed to the promotion and support of Race Walking and this International Forum is part of this strategy”. Duan Shijie who is the Vice Minister of the General Administration of Sport of China as well as the President of CAA also sent a letter of congratulation.

The master of this forum wass Dr. Feng Shuyong, Vice President of CAA. Vice President and General Secretary of CAA Dr. Luo Chaoyi, Deputy Director of Guangdong Provincial Sports Administration Wang Yuping, IAAF Race Walking Committee Member Gabriel Roldan (MEX), Luis Saladie (ESP), and Yang Shande attended this forum.

During the forum, Roldan, Saladie (ESP), International Race Walking Judge Wang Yan (CHN), and 5 other Chinese research personnel delivered their newly studied paper, which covered topics like Race Walking Judging, Spanish Race Walking Structure, The Centenary Evolution of Race Walking in China, Altitude Training, etc.
