MonteFollowing the highly successful 2007 IAAF Nutritional Consensus Conference which was held 18-20 April in Monte-Carlo, the IAAF is pleased to issue the 2007 IAAF Consensus Statement on Nutrition in Athletics which is available on the IAAF website.

“This Consensus Statement is an important document for our sport,” commented IAAF President Lamine Diack. “Not only does it help define and guide the nutritional needs for elite track and field athletes but it also promotes safe and healthy nutritional habits. I strongly encourage all athletes and their support personnel to read both this Consensus Statement and the forthcoming educational products.”

Further and more detailed educational products on best practice in nutrition for track and field athletes will be produced in the coming months.  These products will be available in multiple languages and will provide nutritional advice for athletes on a large range of topics. In addition, all the scientific papers, reports, and PowerPoint presentations from the conference will be published and made publicly available.
