The French city of Annecy will host the 2015 IAU Trail World Championships on 30 May and will welcome more than double the number of participants from the last edition.

Two years ago, 118 athletes from 18 countries competed in Conwy, Great Britain, which was a record figure for participation at the time.

But in 2015, for the fifth edition of these championships, there will be 286 athletes from 39 countries competing in Annecy.

There will be four titles on offer with team and individual gold medals to be awarded for both men and women.

The championships will be held on the same course as the famous Tecnica-MaXi-Race. The race is 85km long and will go up to an elevation of 5300m.
