A bump in the road for Zhanna Block

Hello Everybody,

Well, I opened my season in my lucky country Greece where I have had many successes over the years.

This year though was not my lucky one in Greece as I was beaten by Christine Arron of France, a woman who has made a great come back after having a baby and many injuries. She can now show her true talent again.

The most disappointing thing other than the loss was the minor injury I suffered on my hip flexor. Again this is no excuse for the loss as I understand Christine arrived at 4:30 the morning of the meet so she had her own problems and overcame them.

As for myself the injury occurred about 70m into the race which caused me to slow down a little. Again I have started rehab and feel that I will be back on the track soon, but I promise that I will not be back until I am 100% and ready to run the way I am expected to run by the fans, media and meeting promoters.

I am currently confirmed in almost all of the major meetings for the remainder of the summer but have withdrawn from Poznan which is to be held on 29 June. The meeting promoter has been very good to me over the past two years and I could not accept the very fair fee that we agreed to because I am not going to be 100% by then.

I will keep everybody updated on my progress each step of the way. I also remember that this is a World Championship year and it is my major goal of the season. Well, wish me well.

Best wishes,

Zhanna
