Following the results of the national trials which were held in Biskra earlier this month, the Algerian team for the 34th IAAF World Cross Country Championships, Fukuoka, Japan (1 – 2 April) was chosen.

At the last edition of the World Cross in 2005, Algerian teams took fifth places in both the men’s senior races, and 10th place in the junior division.

Leading the team of 18 for Japan will be Samir Mousaoui, 30, who is the most experienced member of the national champion having first taken part in the World Cross Country as a 19-year-old in 1994. In Fukuoka he will be competing in his tenth World Cross Country Championships, a national record.
