Ethiopia’s Leila Aman pulled off a massive recovery to win the women’s race in this morning’s 9th Moha Addis Ababa City Marathon held in Addis Ababa.

The 21-year old runner, who finished ninth in the Berlin Marathon recently, clawed back to close a massive gap of just over five minutes to record her first Marathon victory on Ethiopian soil in a time of 2:52.03 just under four minutes ahead of Sisay Me’eso (2:56.02).

In the men’s race, it was little-known Gashaw Melese who took the honours completing the race in a time of 2:22.27 ahead of Zerihun Ambaye and Tekeste Kebede.
