Monte CarloA lot of fans were holding their breath today as they waited for the draw for the winner of the IAAF World Athletics Final Promotional Competition

Over 300 voted correctly to select the Triple Jump as the winning discipline in this year’s TDK Golden League competition and Tatyana Lebedeva came up trumps, winning herself a cool Million dollars and giving one of our visitors the chance to win  a trip for two to the World Athletics Final as guests of the IAAF.

The lucky winner, drawn by IAAF General Secretary Istvan Gyulai in a blind draw this afternoon, is 20-year-old Javier Gesualdo from Mar del Plata in Argentina.

He and his father will be flown at the IAAF’s expense from Argentina to Nice, where they will be met and taken to Monte Carlo, to stay in a four star hotel.

They will have seats in the VIP enclosure at the Stade Louis II for the two days of the World Athletics Final and will be guests at the World Athletics Gala for the Athlete of the Year awards ceremony, before flying back to Mar del Plata with their memories of the trip of a lifetime for an athletics fan!
