Usain Bolt will run the DN Galan meeting in Stockholm on Friday 29 July, the eleventh meeting of the 2011 Samsung Diamond League.

World and Olympic champion and World record holder Bolt will run the 200m in Stockholm’s 1912 Olympic Stadium.

Bolt, who last year lost an epic 100 metres battle in the Swedish capital, with the currently injured Tyson Gay, made a very clear statement to mark the announcement of his return to Stockholm: “I will be back – and I will not lose.”

“It is a great pleasure to confirm Usain Bolt’s return to DN Galan,” says Meeting Director Rajne Söderberg. “The U.S. sports channel Universal Sports voted last year’s 100 metres race at the DN Galan between Usain Bolt and Tyson Gay as the top performance of the year in 2010. It will be interesting to see Bolt run the 200 metres.”

Bolt holds the 200m World record of 19.19 sec which he set in Berlin at the 2009 IAAF World Championships, and he is the World and Olympic champion at 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay, owning the world’s fastest ever times in all three events.

Bolt will also be challenging the meeting record of 19.77, set by former World record holder Michael Johnson in 1996.
