Monte-Carlo – Pauline Davis-Thompson’s elevation to first place and the gold medal in the Sydney Olympic Games 200m which was a consequence of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decision this week concerning their original disqualification of Marion Jones, brings the total of individual Olympic champions who are members of the IAAF Council to five.
Pauline Davis-Thompson of the Bahamas, who was elected to IAAF Council in 2007, produced a 22.27 seconds run on 28 September 2000 a performance which now makes her the Sydney Olympic champion for the women’s 200m.
The other Olympic champions in the current IAAF Council are Senior Vice-President Sergey Bubka UKR (1988 - Pole Vault), Vice-President Sebastian Coe GBR (1980 and 1984 - 1500m), and fellow individual members Alberto Juantorena CUB (1976 – 400m and 800m) and Nawal El Moutawakel MAR (1984 – 400m Hurdles).

Monte-Carlo – La décision cette semaine du Comité international olympique (CIO) de classer Pauline Davis-Thompson première et donc championne olympique du 200m des Jeux de Sydney, suite à la disqualification originale de Marion Jones, porte à cinq le nombre total de champions olympiques individuels siégeant au Conseil de l'IAAF.
Pauline Davis-Thompson, des Bahamas, élue au Conseil de l'IAAF en 2007, avait réussi un temps de 22"27 en finale olympique du 200m femmes le 28 septembre 2000, une performance qui fait désormais d'elle la championne olympique de la discipline de Sydney.
Les autres champions olympiques actuellement membres du conseil de l'IAAF sont le vice-président senior de l'IAAF, l'Ukrainien Sergey Bubka (1988 – saut à la perche), le vice-président de l'IAAF, le Britannique Sebastian Coe (1980 et 1984 - 1500m) et leurs collègues membres individuels, le Cubain Alberto Juantorena (1976 – 400m et 800m) et la Marocaine Nawal El Moutawakel (1984 – 400m haies).
