Cross country's coming home - A history of Kenyan XC running

The slogan used by the local organisers of the 35th IAAF World Cross Country Championships, Mombasa, Kenya (24 March 2007) this weekend is invested with pride.

At last, the nation that won the men's team title for 18 consecutive years, from 1986 to 2003, in the longest winning streak in international sporting history, is getting its chance to stage the event in Mombasa. For Kenya,"Cross country's coming home".
