Decathlon - Event two - Long Jump

The silver medallist from the 2003 World Youth Championships, Andrei Krauchanka from Belarus, produced the best performance in the Long Jump, with a new personal best of 7.46, worth 925 points.

The next best performances came from Norman Muller with 7.24 (871) and the competition leader Andres Silva, with a personal best of 7.23 (869). Romanian-born Franco Luigi Casiean, who took Italian nationality last year produced a creditable 7.20 metres (862), much to the delight of the home crowd.

After this event, Silva retains his lead with 1786 points, Krauchanka follows with 1766  and Casiean is in third position with 1732.
