London, UkTirunesh Dibaba (Ethiopia), fresh from her historic 5000 and 10,000 metres double at the World Championships in Helsinki, heads up a strong elite field in the Hydro Active Women’s Challenge (formerly the Flora Light Challenge for Women) taking place in Hyde Park, London this Sunday, 4 September.

The 5k unofficial World road best of 14:51, currently held jointly by Paula Radcliffe (Hyde Park, London 14/9/03), and Tirunesh Dibaba (Carlsbad, California 4/4/05), could well come under threat on Sunday in the eighth running of the UK’s premier 5k women’s road running event.  “This is very exciting, we welcome such a record attempt “ said Race Director David Bedford.

Dibaba competes against last year’s Champion Sonia O’Sullivan from Ireland. O’Sullivan claimed Olympic 5000m silver five years ago in Sydney to add to 1995 World Championship Gold.
