Beijing, China - Professor Arne Ljungqvist (SWE), Honorary Life Vice-President and former Senior Vice-President of the IAAF has launched the Chinese version of his book which was first published in Swedish in 2008.
On 29 September 2010, the Chinese Sports Ministry organised the launch of the Mandarin language version of Professor Ljungqvist’s book ‘Doping's Nemesis’ which quote 'lifts the lid off Anti-Doping-secrets!'
The launch ceremony attended by Professor Ljungqvist, who is the Chairman of IOC Medical Commission and WADA Vice President, was held at the Beijing Sports University in the Teachers’ Auditorium. Students, VIP-guests and media were invited to the ceremony and accompanying seminar which centred on international progress in the fight against doping.
In the past 40 years, Professor Ljungqvist devoted himself to the realm of anti-doping. "I always regard doping as cancer in sport. Doping has no place in sport," said Ljungqvist.
The book will be used as mandatory training for all doping control staff in the country of China.
Originally published in Swedish, the Chinese version is the first in a series of international editions. Coming up next in 2011 are English and French editions, and in future a Japanese version will also be published.

Le livre d'Arne Ljungqvist, 'Doping's Nemesis', est lancé en Chine
Pékin, Chine – Le professeur Arne Ljungqvist (SWE), Vice-Président honoraire à vie et ancien Vice-Président senior de l'IAAF, a présenté la version en chinois de son livre, d'abord publié en suédois en 2008.
Le 29 septembre 2010, le Ministère chinois des sports a organisé une cérémonie spéciale pour le lancement de la version en langue mandarine de l'ouvrage du professeur Ljungqvist, 'Doping's Nemesis, qui expose les secrets de l'antidopage.
La cérémonie de lancement s'est déroulée en présence du professeur Ljungqvist, qui préside la Commission médicale du CIO et est le Vice-Président de l'AMA, s'est tenue dans l'auditorium des professeurs de l'Université des sports de Pékin. Parmi les invités se trouvaient des VIP, des étudiants et des journalistes qui ont pu assister, en plus de la cérémonie, au séminaire organisé en parallèle, qui portait sur les progrès accomplis sur le plan international dans la lutte antidopage.
Le professeur Ljungqvist, qui a consacré les quarante dernières années de sa vie à combattre le fléau du dopage, a déclaré: "J'ai toujours considéré que le dopage est un véritable cancer pour le sport, un monde dans lequel il n'a rien à faire."
Le livre fera partie intégrante des programmes de formation dispensés au personnel chargé des contrôles antidopage en Chine.
Publié à l'origine en langue suédoise, le livre sera disponible en anglais et en français courant 2011, tandis qu'une version japonaise est également à l'étude.
