GoldKurt FEARNLEY, AUS

Everything worked exactly according to my plan. I followed Marcel's pace and waited until the last 150 metres. In my head I told myself 'Stay relaxed, stay relaxed' and then I started the sprint finish. Oh, a really good one. Today, it was nice, I only got some harmless scratches. Sometimes wheelchair races can be a really brutal event.
The medal here in Osaka is special because of the temperatures. Besides a lot of Australian friends came to see me. We have been training for three months since the last marathon to race this race. The 1500 metres is a veritable showcase for men's wheelchair.
