Gold MedallistNadezhda OSTAPCHUK, BLR
"I didn't feel any pressure coming here. Already during the warm-up I had a feeling that everything is going to be ok. I was sure I would do well because today is the 13th day which is my lucky number."

"With my first throw I got season's second best result and I was pretty sure that the others would not be able to beat it. I am really happy I got the gold medal but I wasn't satisfied with todays results. I was aiming at 21 metres but the weather was too cold for that. I felt chilly and had all my clothes on."

Silver Medallist - Olga RYABINKINA, RUS
"Before the competition I thought I would be the third. The silver was therefore a positive surprise. I am not very emotional person but now I am very happy."

"I couldn't do any better. In the beginning I was having difficulties to get my throw together but then I got relaxed."

"I train in St. Petersburg where the weather can be similar to this. So I didn't have problems with the weather."

Bronze Medallist - Valerie VILI, NZL
"coming here I was pretty sure I would be in the final, but I couldn't see the medal coming. I don't care what colour the medal is, getting one was the most important.

"In the final I didn't think of placings. My goal was just give everything out in each throw. I just wanted to throw as far as I could."

"The medal gave me a lot of confidence. I am so young I think I have a lot in front of me. Maybe I'm at my best in Beijing."
