“Haile Gebrselassiethe Greatest”, a photo exhibition on the career of Ethiopia’s former two-time Olympic and four-time World 10,000m champion Haile Gebrselassie was officially opened at the National Museum in Addis Ababa on Tuesday (9 Jan).

The exhibition, organized by the Great Ethiopian Run in collaboration with Arsho Medical Laboratories, contains 27 photos of Gebrselasse’s most significant victories over the last fifteen years.

The oldest picture showsGebrselassie’s victory over 10,000m at the 1992 World Junior Championships in Seoul, South Korea.

The most recent photos are two images of Gebrselassie, the current holder of the World records on the road for 10km, 20km and Half Marathon, taking victory and Ethiopian record at the 2006 Real Berlin Marathon last autumn.

On the occasion of the exhibition's opening, Gebrselassie once again reiterated his desire to continue running. “I am still trying to prove myself in running,” he said. “I will continue to try and achieve very good results in 2007.”

The exhibition is the third public celebration of Gebrselassie’s accomplishment’s following the release of ‘Endurance’, a Walt Disney pictures movie on his life in 1997 and ‘The Greatest’, a biography written by Jim Denison.
