In the penultimate edition of a seven part series to rekindle memories of this summer’s 10th IAAF World Championships in Athletics, Helsinki, Finland (6 - 14 August 2005), and to get to know the gold medallists a little better, we present the Throws.

Over the course of nine days competition in the Finnish capital, 3 World records, 10 Championship records, and 9 Area records were established, and 43 (22 men and 21 women) new individual event champions were crowned.

As well as publishing reports and flash interviews about each event, the IAAF website through its team of staff and freelance writers produced a feature story/interview with each of these 43 Helsinki world beaters.

Yet given the huge volume of news published during those nine days, some of these articles will no doubt have passed by in a blur, and so to enable us to get better acquainted with these stars, many of whom are from an emerging young generation, we are now pleased to offer links to each of their feature stories/interviews.
