America’s Chris Huffins, one of the pre event favourites, is out of the Heptathlon. He withdrew after tweaking a hamstring during the first event of Day 2, the 60m hurdles, in which he finished 3rd in 7.91. The race was won by Russia’s Lev Lobodin in 7.81 - a personal best - with the reigning World Champion for decathlon Tomas Dvorak second in 7.84. His fellow Czech Roman Sebrle - Competition leader at the end of Day 2 - was fourth. At 12:12 local time, three athletes remain in contention in the Heptathlon pole vault with the bar at 5.30 - Erki Nool, Sebastian Chmara and Dezso Szabo.
