Holm and Pyrek top the votes in EAA Athletes Commission elections

At the European Athletics Championships which are currently taking place in Gothenburg, Sweden, a new EAA Athletes Commission has been elected for the next four years. 

572 of the 1288 athletes participating in the Championships took part in the election which was carried out in the Athletes Centre on 9-11 August. Two additional athletes will also be appointed to the Commission.

The EAA Athletes Commission meets regularly to represent European elite athletes towards the EAA Council. The main task of the Commission is to address and discuss all matters which are of concern to elite athletes in Europe. The three male and three female candidates with the highest number of votes were elected as members of the EAA Athletes Commission. 

The following athletes have been voted on to the EAA Athletes Commission 2006-2010:
