Australia's and Norway's reigning World and Olympic champions Steven Hooker (Pole Vault) and Andreas Thorkildsen (Javelin) took part in an IAAF Diamond League press conference in Shanghai this morning.
China’s biggest city of 20 million, one of the largest conurbations on the planet, and like most major ports a diverse, cosmopolitan place, is currently hosting the World Expo.
However, this week the city has been welcoming another global influx whose focus isn’t the pavilions and displays of the showground but rather Shanghai stadium which tomorrow night (Sunday 23 May) plays host to a world’s fair of athletics talent.
Hooker and Thorkildsen were part of a large gathering of athletes at today’s media event in the press centre of Shanghai Stadium, which also included fellow IAAF Diamond League Ambassador Shelly-Ann Fraser, the women’s World and Olympic 100m champion.
