IAAF Regional Development Centre affected by floods

FacebookTwitterEmail

The greatest flood for 480 years has hit the city of Santa Fe, Argentina affecting more than a third of its population of 400,000 inhabitants has turned the city into an immense catastrophe reports Juan Alberto Scarpín, the Director of IAAF RDC Santa Fe.

A very large number of lives have been lost and thousands are also missing and homeless, and there has been millions of dollars of material losses in the region too.

The ISEF building, which house the IAAF RDC headquarters, and the athletics track (CARD) were completely covered with water to a height of near three (3) metres.

Thankfully, all the staff and assistants in the centre are well and are helping the local community in different ways. We hope to be fully back to normal as soon as possible, and appreciate all the expressions of support that have been received in recent days.
