India sends four athletes to Fukuoka

A four member Indian team consisting of 2 men and an equal number of women athletes will be taking part in the next month’s 34th IAAF World Cross Country Championships, Fukuoka, Japan (1 - 2 April).
 
Irappa D. Akki, the Army lad who won the National (Pune, 5 Feb) and FedCup (Nasik, 12 Mar) back to back this year, will spearhead the Indian challenge.  He will be taking part in the 12Km, while Kashinath Aswale of Maharashra entered in the short race of 4Km.
 
Among the women, Pampa Chanda is going to run the 8Km whereas Kashinath’s state-mate Kavita Raut, the 4Km.
