Gold MedallistFelix SANCHEZ DOM

"Today everything went fine. I tried to run all out and not play any games with myself. My coach told me to just run fast and concentrate and everything will come together. It did. I did not run too fast and had no trouble at all throughout the race.

"I still have to fix my trail leg, but the time was just there at the end. I set a new personal best and successfully defended my title which was the most important for me tonight.

"My birthday is tomorrow, this is the best present I could have given myself.

"Nobody has ran this fast over the past ten years, it is really an honour to win this title with such a time."

Silver Medallist - Joey WOODY USA

"This is definitively the highlight of my career.I had a lot of good meetings this season and I am very happy with this silver medal because I really ran my best. I have noticed that the US team had a lot of luck on lane 6.I want to thank God for giving me the strengh, the opportunity, and I want to thank my wife and my kid, they are such a source of inspiration for me.

"Felix (SANCHEZ) was next to me and ran up on me. I told myself even before the race not to worry about him. I knew I had to stick to my own race and run my own plan. That is where people lose it. They try to go after him. Sandra GLOVER stuck to her plan last night instead of going after the Russian (PECHONKINA) and she won her medal.

"In college my strength was the last three hurdles but then I started working on footspeed and it all sort of went away. This year I went out to UCLA to run hills, 3-400m long hills, all pretty steep, just five or six of them for a medium hard day. It looks like it worked."

Bronze Medallist - Periklis IAKOVAKIS GRE

"I ran my very best, maybe even 150%. I trained hard all year for this: I made so many sacrifices over the years to reach this level. I really concentrated tonight and that helped me for sure.

"My friends and family were very supportive so I would like to thank them. The crowd was great as well. I really didn't expect such an atmosphere out here.

"I came to these World Championships with a lot of incentive to do well. I talked with Konstadinos KEDERIS and he told me to keep a positive spirit and that's what I did.

My first 200 metres were kind of slow, I had to stay relaxed not to be lagging too far behind."

8th - Llewellyn HERBERT RSA

"You probably saw on TV what happened. I came into the final straight feeling comfortable and relaxed and hit the last hurdle with the wrong leg and fell. That was it.

"I actually injured myself, look at my left leg it is all blue and bruised.

"I felt really good before the meet, relaxed and focused but I just messed up.

"I will have to put myself back together and just move on."
