Gold MedallistHestrie CLOETE RSA

"I came here and defended my title. That was the most important for me, and I was very focused throughout the competition which you can see in my result.

"I am proud that South Africa won two gold medals here - both in high jump - it looks like we are coming back into world of athletics.

"I honestly feel that 2.10meters is within my reach, both my head and my legs can do it, just not today. Maybe by the end of this year, or maybe next year, but I know I will try it and I know I can get it."

Silver Medallist - Marina KUPTSOVA RUS

"I was fighting for gold but I made a lot of technical mistakes during my jumps. The girl I was more afraid of was Kajsa (BERGQVIST) but it turns out that Hestrie (CLOETE) won the gold.

"I am very happy for my medal and it's not that a bad result at all."

Bronze Medallist - Kajsa BERGQVIST SWE

"I am quite happy after such a difficult season. My foot that has been sore was a little bit stiff today, but it is getting better.

"I had to treat my injury constantly to be able to jump with it, warm it up before the competition so it is less painful.

"My other foot suffered as a consequense because I tried to compensate with it for the sore one.

"I am glad to clear 2.00m here today, but even though I knew it is difficult to jump with this foot, I had no choice but to go ahead and keep jumping."
