First - Meseret DEFAR, ETH
Today, I ran only for qualification. So, the plan I had was about qualifiying, nothing else. The race was not very fast and I ran easily. My aim is to win the gold medal for the fifth time. But I know that the Kenyans or Burka can spoil this plan. They are strong, I know them. You never know what will happen in the final.
Second - Sylvia Jebiwott KIBET, KEN
I would like to get a medal at least. My shape is not the best at the moment. I was feeling sick because of a gastritis. I did not even expect to qualify for the World championships. I was surprised when I did and happy. But now I really would like a medal.
Heat Two
First - Gelete BURKA, ETH
This was a good race. I am feeling very nice. In the final, I will not run on my own, I will run with my teammate Defar. She is like my mentor - we train together, I pace her. But of course, I want to win the gold medal.
Second - Hellen Onsando OBIRI, KEN
My aim for the final is to make at least the top three. I will try to win of course. As Defar has got a strong kick, my tactics is to stay behind her, to stick to her during the race. At the moment my shape is very good, I feel very strong.
