Alina TALAY, BLR

I was surprised by the gun. It was not loud. It was like a clap. Anyway, I am happy to make it through and I hope to improve my personal best tomorrow.

Sally PEARSON, AUS

It is the end of the athletics season in Australia and I am in good shape. A false start? I hesitated but did not stop, it was quite confusing. Are there two guns or is there an echo? Despite my hesitation at the start, I still ran an excellent time and the good thing for the semis is that there is more left!

I would rather get a medal but anything less than gold would be a deception. But I have not made the final yet, there is still a semi-final to pass.

Eline BERINGS, BEL

We don't know where the gun comes from. It's not like a bang. After a meter or so, I thought 'Oh no, a false start', but since there was no recall, I just gave full speed.

Vonette DIXON, JAM

Someone went off before the start and I thought they were going to call it back, but they didn't. I feel great and I wanted a medal. I am really disappointed. I came here to compete.

Marzia CARAVELLI, ITA

I heard the gun twice. It took a while between the 'set' and 'go' so some tension built on the blocks. I was not smooth through the hurdles, but this is a preliminary race. I have a day to calm down and get ready for the next race. I have had some dissapointing perfomances and I want to erase that here. Tomorrow will be another race. I have nothing to lose.
