Khannouchi narrowly beaten in Philly Half

Philadelphia PA, USAKhalid Khannouchi finished third in Sunday’s annual Philly Half Marathon behind Kenya’s Julius Kibet and Morocco’s Elarbi Khattabi.

The 32 year-old Khannouchi was making his comeback from a long spell of injury which saw him last race and win in Kyoto, Japan on 9 March 2003, where he finished in 62:15 .

In a tight race on Sunday, the American was beaten by just three seconds by Kibet who won in a personal best of 61:18. The Kenyan is ten years Khannouchi's junior.

The women’s race was won by Nuta Olaru of Romania in 69:38
