Lobinger 5.70m and Bolm 12.90sec in Cottbus

Tim Lobinger and Kirsten Bolm achieved two of the best results at the meeting in Cottbus, Germany on Friday evening (2 June).

Lobinger won the Pole Vault with 5.70m before missing 5.81m closely. Alhaji Jeng (Sweden / 5.60m) and Germany's Lars Börgeling (5.50) took the next two places. Denys Yurchenko (Ukraine) was fourth with 5.50m.

Kirsten Bolm clocked her first sub 13.00 seconds time this season. In fine weather conditions the 100m hurdler won in 12.90 seconds. Additionally it was the first time this season she achieved the German qualifying standard for the European Championships in Gothenburg.

Britain’s Jenny Meadows took the 800m in 2:01.27 minutes, while Morocco’s World Junior Champion Abdelati Iguider won the men's 1500m with 3:36.98. In the women's 400m, Heide Seyerling (South Africa) ran 52.59 seconds. Ralf Bartels took the shot Put with 20.61m. He was ahead of Andy Dittmar (20.09) and Miran Vodovnik (Slovenia/20.05). Christina Obergföll reached 60.59m in the women's Javelin Throw.
