Former Olympic Long Jump champion Lynn Davies has replaced David Hemery as the President of UK Athletics.

Davies, who won gold in 1964 in Tokyo, was voted in as his replacement ahead of Frank Clement, a former British 1500m record holder.

"I am delighted to be elected to this very important position within UK Athletics at a time when I believe the sport is facing a golden opportunity to move forward," said Davies, who is a fitness coach in different sports.

Hemery, the 1968 Olympic 400m Hurdles champion and ex-World record holder stepped down after four years and was ineligible to stand for a further term.
