Men 110 metres hurdles Final

Thiago Jacinto Carahyba Dias’ ambitions of double gold in Debrecen were dashed in the final metres of the men’s 110 metre hurdles.

Right up to the final hurdle, Dias was in the running, leading over the barrier just a stride behind Qatar’s Nassim Messjian and level with Marthinius Van Der Vyver from South Africa and Eddy Delepine from France.

But in the end, the Qatari was the stronger finisher and behind him came Van Der Vyver and Delepine, leaving Dias in fouth place, despite a lifetime best of 13.41.

Messjian clocked the second fastest ever youth time to take the gold with a personal best of 13.27. Van Der Vyver crossed the line in 13.35 and Delepine a personal best 13.39.
