Semi finals 400m Men
Defending champion Sunday Bada of Nigeria was eliminated– clocking 47.07 to finish fourth behind Mexican Alejandro Cardenas (46.51) and Lars Figuras (46.71) in the first semi final of the 400m. But the man he beat two years ago in Paris, Jamie Baulch was in superb form, clocking 46.14 to win the third semi, after a duel with Jamaica’s Roxbert Martin who took the other automatic qualifying spot. Troy McIntosh was the early pace setter in the last semi, but he faded and was overtaken by American Milton Campbell. Both advance to the final.
