Cuban triple jumper Pedro Pablo Pichardo and US pole vaulter Jenn Suhr are among the latest top athletes announced to compete at the Adidas Grand Prix in New York on 13 June, the seventh leg of the 2015 IAAF Diamond League.

Pichardo is having a spectacular season, setting a national record in each of his three competitions so far. The most recent, a leap of 18.08m, makes him the third-best outdoor triple jumper in history. The world silver medallist and 2012 world junior champion will face USA’s Olympic silver medallist Will Claye.

Suhr, the world indoor record-holder and 15-time US champion, has stormed back from the foot injury that forced her to withdraw from the US Indoor Championships this winter.

At a low-key meeting in New York last week, the 33-year-old cleared a world-leading 4.81m, her best performance since taking the silver medal at the 2013 IAAF World Championships.

Sally Pearson is another world silver medallist set to compete in New York. Like Suhr, the Australian sprint hurdler is the Olympic champion in her event. She will be competing in New York for the first time since 2010.

World 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu will also compete in New York. It will be the British record-holder’s fourth consecutive appearance at the IAAF Diamond League meeting.

Four of the best US shot putters in recent history will clash. Joe Kovacs currently leads the world lists with his 22.35m throw. He will face three other members of the 22-metre club, each of whom have won at least two global titles: two-time world indoor champion Ryan Whiting, 2007 world champion Reese Hoffa and 2009 world champion Christian Cantwell.

Other additions to the line-up include world 110m hurdles champion David Oliver, Olympic 5000m silver medallist Dejen Gebremeskel, two-time world indoor 60m hurdles champion Lolo Jones, and Olympic 4x100m champion Tianna Bartoletta.

These latest additions will join Usain Bolt, David Rudisha, Blanka Vlasic, and Ajee Wilson.
