A record number of 37 athletes will represent Poland on home soil in Sopot at the IAAF World Indoor Championships on 7-9 March.

The team is led by two-time Olympic shot put champion Tomasz Majewski, Poland’s sole medallist at the 2012 World Indoor Championships in Istanbul, and 2009 world pole vault champion Anna Rogowska.

Other medal chances include 2011 world pole vault champion Pawel Wojciechowski, pentathlete Karolina Tyminska, and middle-distance runners Adam Kszczot, Marcin Lewandowski and Angelika Cichocka.

Poland’s representation in Sopot is their largest ever in the history of the IAAF World Indoor Championships. Across the history of the event, Poland has won 22 medals – two gold, six silver and 14 bronze.

They will surely add to that tally next month in Sopot.
