the British athlete will not compete in Sydney

9 September 2000 – Monte Carlo – A request from UK Athletics to adjourn the arbitration hearing of the British 400m runner Mark Richardson has been accepted.

Richardson’s case was originally scheduled to be heard by the IAAF Arbitration Panel on 16 September in Sydney.

Professor Christoph Vedder, Chairman of the Panel, has informed UK Athletics and the IAAF that a new date for the hearing will be set later. This decision allows UK Athletics and Mark Richardson further time to prepare the athlete’s case.

The IAAF raised no objection to the request from UK Athletics and noted that Mark Richardson will not compete in the 2000 Olympic Games.
