Dayron Robles and David Oliver, two of the three fastest high hurdlers of all time, will square off in the 110m Hurdles at the DN Galan Samsung Diamond League on Friday 29 July in the 11th stop of the 14-meeting series.

Robles of Cuba, the reigning Olympic champion, is the World record holder in the event at 12.87, and set the stadium record of 12.91 just prior to his Olympic triumph in Beijing. Oliver, the U.S. record holder at 12.89, is history's third fastest man.

"This duel is a gem in an already star-packed competition," said Meeting director Rajne Söderberg. "Robles set the stadium record in 2008 with 12.91 and missed the world record by three hundred of a second. Oliver is eager to leave Stockholm with a record and a 1 carat diamond."

The DN Galan awards 1 carat diamonds to all athletes who set stadium records.

The two rivals most recently met at the Samsung Diamond League race in Paris. Underscoring how close the pair are, both clocked 13.09 in a virtual dead heat, with Robles winning by the narrowest of margins. Oliver is this year’s world leader at 12.94 which propelled him to victory in the Eugene leg of the Samsung Diamond League. Will there be a new record at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium on 29 July?
