The World Athletics Gala '97, to be held in the "Salle des Etoiles" of the Monte Carlo's Summer Sporting on 21 November, sponsored by the Compagnie Monégasque de Banque (CMB) and MONDO; the concert of Katia Ricciarelli and Massimo Ranieri on 22 November in the Salle Garnier and the 1st Monaco International Marathon, which will take place on 23 November with a course crossing Monaco, France and Italy, will be presented at 12.00 am, Wednesday 5 November, in a press conference at the Hotel Eden, via Ludovisi 49, in Rome.
The press conference is organised jointly by The International Athletic Foundation, headed by Dr Primo Nebiolo, the Fédération Monégasque d'Athlétisme, headed by Prince Albert, and Tele Monte Carlo, who will broadcast the three events live world-wide.
The press conference will provide details on these events which will attract the eyes of the worlds of sport and culture to Monaco during this year of celebrations of the 700th anniversary of the rule of the Grimaldi Dynasty.
The press conference will be attended by a number of champion athletes and by Katia Ricciarelli and Massimo Ranieri who will be giving their first ever joint performance in Monaco.
