Squad of 13 for Uganda at IAAF World Championships in Daegu

The Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) has named 13 athletes for the IAAF World Championships, Daegu, Korea (27 Aug to 4 Sep).


The team is led by double Commonwealth Games champion Moses Kipsiro, who took the World 5000m bronze in 2007, and will try a 5000m / 10,000m double at the championships.


Men: Moses Kipsiro (5000m & 10,000m), Benjamin Kiplagat (3,000m SC), Julius Mutekanga (800m), Jacob Araptany (1500m & 3000m SC), Geoffrey Kusuro (5000m), Abraham Kiplimo (5,000m), Richard Soibei (Marathon), Stephen Kiprotich (Marathon), Nicholas Kiprono (Marathon), Daniel Chepyegon (Marathon).


Women: Annet Negesa (800m), Sarah Nambawa (Triple Jump), Jane Suuto (Marathon).
