World 200m champion Allyson Felix of USA and Russia’s Olympic High Jump gold medallist Yelena Slesarenko will face stiff challenges at the World Athletics Tour meeting in Ostrava on 30 May.

Felix, 20, has been signed up to face newly crowned World Indoor 60m champion Me´Lisa Barber in the women’s 100m. Leading the world season lists thanks to her 11.04 run last weekend in Lawrence, USA at Kansas Relays, Felix will be aiming at an even faster PB by 30 May. “I heard that the track in Ostrava is fast so I am looking forward to improving my time.”

Another great clash can be expected in women’s High Jump. Olympic champion and double World Indoor champion Yelena Slesarenko takes on Croatia’s record holder Blanka Vlasic (2.05m this winter) who finished in silver behind the Russian in Moscow at last month’s World Indoor Championships.

It is hoped that the meeting record of 2.01m will be broken especially as also included in the competition are Helsinki World Championships bronze medallist Emma Green from Sweden, and the joint holder of the Russian indoor record Anna Chicherova, who is European Indoor champion, as well as three top local jumpers - Barbora Lalakova, Iva Strakova, Romana Dubnova.
