As strange as it may sound given the meeting's title, the third annual jumping gala in the Estonian capital was this year highlighted by a performance in a hurdles race!

Sweden’s Susanna Kallur equalled the world leading mark of Russia´s Irina Shevchenko by winning the women’s 60m Hurdles in 7.90 seconds. In the process she defeated Jamaica’s Vonette Dixon (8.05), and twin sister Jenny Kallur (8.06).

Another European indoor title favourite and world leader (7.50) in the men’s 60m Hurdles Stanislav Olijars from Latvia did not finish his race as his blocks slipped and he stopped after first steps. This race was won by American Ron Bramlett (7.63).

In the absence of Russian high jumper Yaroslav Rybakov who did not show up as planned, 2003 World champion Jacques Freitag beat a strong field with a jump of 2.28m.

In the Pole Vault the surprise winner was Jeff Hartwig from USA who jumped 5.71. Olympic medallist Toby Stevenson after jumping 5.66 passed 5.71 and after being unsuccessful on his first try at 5.76, tried two times at 5.81, both failures.

World season leader Derek Miles also played poker. After jumping 5.41 and passing 5.51 he took one try at three heights – 561, 566 and 571 but was not successful and so was left with only his second defeat of the indoor season.
